General Commentary and Game Overview
"Come oon! No one disturbs Wario's dreams!" Except the dude that built a new tower next to Wario's castle. The demo is about exploring the tower to stop that dude.

Pros + Cool cutscenes.
+ Wario has an awesome set of moves, cool custom animations!
+ Smart level puzzles.

Cons - Sometimes unclear what to do.
- Severe slowdowns on computer without graphics accelerator.

Gameplay
8 / 10
WwwWario wrote just a few instructions in the text file how to play. "That's really everything you need to know." And it is! Because the demo starts off in Wario's castle, and painted on the walls are tips and tricks. Looks like Egyptian wall paintings.

* Up is the key to jump, at first this feels awkward for us that are used to Shift, but up makes sense, up to jump up ya know. And it feels good to jump, when pressing up Wario halts for the blink of an eye before flying up into air, giving a good feel of weight.
* Down key in air does a jump drop-down move, causing the screen to shake.
* X boosts Wario's speed to tackle bricks into pieces. Take into account the boost gfx with powerfully colored trail behind the boosting Wario. It looks and feels good to play.
* Then we have a weird move, the Wario Waft, working like a double jump and takes time to build up.

The moves that feel a bit bad are running and swimming.
- Hold Ctrl to run fast and the screen shakes a tiny bit for each footstep, making it hard for the eyes to focus on things in the level. Causes an uneasy feeling on the eyes.
- After the run, Wario slides on the floor for a long bit, feeling somewhat frustrating - But at the same time it is a reasonable game design balance, especially since the Shop in-game has an item to avoid the slide.
- Jump while running to throw Wario long through the air, then land as a "seal" on the ground =) A fun move that isn't used much.
- Swimming seems bad in all aspects, it's so slow that it can't be used to avoid the flying sharp saucers in Level 1: Honey Shroomland.

All the moves are pretty awesome all together! Though they aren't needed much. The one you use the most is the Wario Waft as the demo is mostly about platform jumping, and double jumping.
Wario wins over his enemies the easiest way by jumping on top of them, because their spears prevent boosting or "sealing" them to death =D And there aren't so many enemies anyway. Jumping and exploring is what you do the most.

I think the keyboard controls are a bit awkwardly placed on the keyboard; Ctrl to run, X to boost, but Z between them, which is a double-jump while up is also a jump. I would find it more logical if the run/boost buttons were together, and the jump buttons were together. So I like using Xpadder to map these controls nicer on a gamepad.

LEVELS:
The levels are a lot about jumping, exploring, and finding switches to open up more areas to explore. In Level 1: Honey Shroomland is a small tunnel that I can't "seal" slide into, a narrow gap between vines that I can't drop down in, and a door in the air that I can't enter. At the end of the level is a question block containing nothing... Or well wait, the question block actually changes something in the level, which makes sense. But all players maybe not figure this out... At my first attempt I didn't figure out what the question block did, and instead thought it was the end of the demo XP

WwwWario's level puzzles are pretty smart, and we need to try different ways and odd moves, this is fun! But at times I fail to figure it out. In Level 3: The Arctic Shipwreck I got an electric powerup and there was an electrical device, but it was blocked by lights that the powerup couldn't reach through. And why did the light take away the electric powerup? Light taking away Wario's vampire powerup made sense in "The Frozen Treasure" but not now with the electric powerup.
- Wait a second though! Then I tried the level again, and by luck I found another question block in an area I had not found before, and also realized there are exclamation blocks in another part of the level, where I finally found a way.
- But then I got stuck on a small ship with more exclamation blocks but no question block to "unblock" them.
...So sometimes it's unclear what to do in the demo.

BUGS:
- On the first screen in the tutorial level, do we walk right or left? If walking left we fall down outside the screen and need to restart the game.
- Level 2: Night Time Town is impossible to win on a slow computer, as the graphical effects slow down Wario's moves but the time limit ticks down as fast as on a faster computer.
- Ladders are a bit annoying, Wario can't stay on them and falls down as soon as you stop pressing the up key.

Graphics
6 / 10
As usual with Www's games, cutscenes and menus are pretty advanced with effects and animations, but with a very nice personal style. Custom graphics!

Cutscenes, I mean most games don't even have them, but Super Wario 4Tune starts off with camera views on Wario's castle, funny speech sounds that are like voice overs and music to set the good mood!

And Warios speech bubbles have a nice touch to them, when they pop up they wiggle quickly once, and it really looks like Wario's grunts out the words in the bubble.

Some of the effects are too much though.
- The coin counter screen after ending a level can take 30 seconds to go through on a 1000 Mhz computer. Maybe because the rotating background effect makes the computer slow.
- Level 2: Night Time Town suffers from effects too. It has awesome night and light effects. But Wario's movement is slower than usual because the effects seem too much to handle for a slow computer - I guess the demo runs faster on a graphics accelerator card.

...Somewhere in the Night Time Town though, is the coolest ghost ever seen in a Mario Bros game. Just look on its face, the grin!

Sound
10 / 10
The sound effects are all good, especially the speech bubble voice overs, and the music to set the good mood.

Replay
5 / 10
The demo has good replay value, as the levels are about collecting coins, lots of coins, to shop for powerups in the small shop that sells several exciting items. But they're so expensive! Gravity Boots sound useful for all the jumping in the levels, but they cost 1000 coins and I didn't even get that many in the 3 levels available, maybe because Level 2: Night Time Town was impossible to win on my slow computer.

Final Words
6 / 10
One more unusual and uniquely styled fangame from WwwWario, with custom art. The levels are better than the "Frozen Treasure" - But on a slow computer Level 2 was impossible to complete, and that is why this review score is 6, maybe the game runs better on a fast computer.

Thanks! That's how I want a preview. Some may think that I get angry if they say what they mean. You've said what you mean here. And I love it. Fantastic job! :)
Oh, and just one thing: Not all the art is from Kjellm87. It's just the Title Screen picture ;) The rest is of me, just so you know :P

I will try to fix:
-The lagging and graphics errors on slow computers on level 2.
-Put up signs to let the players know where to go.
-Try to use a better set of buttons
-Try to fix so that you don't fall down from ladders.
-Fix bugs like falling out of the screen.
-Fix the prices in the Shop
-Add more stuff
-Etc. etc. things I've forgotten to mention ;)

Oh! And one thing. On Level 1. Honey Shroomland: To enter the tiny hole surrounded by vines, you need to become Skinny Wario. And to do that, you will need either Extreme Hot Garlic, or Gravity Boots, in order to reach the place to transform. And the door in the air is a door you can't enter, but it's a door you exit! :)

But thanks to you, I now know better what to fix! Thank you! :)

Ah I see, I thought Kjellm made more art, but I'll send an update about the art. I like both yours' styles.

I need to play this game on a fast computer, sounds like it could be cool and get to try those items from the shop.
