What critter are those the bones of?

Most likely to be wild bulls. It's got to be scary but fitting.

Really? I never would've guessed that from a name with the words "desert tileset" in it, that these tiles could be used in a desert level. T_T

But...but...mountainous canyons?

NCFC has got my head spinning around. New games will be rolling in on MFGG as well as other similar Nintendo fansites which are delegates of NCFC. Everybody, get your coding duties on the roll and backup everything!

These are awesome, but you broke the NES's three color rule! Sound the alarm! Call the CIA!

Uh oh! Somebody call in VinnyVideo!

For this old sheet, I agree that it breaks the 3-color rule in the case of Yoshi, but nice work.

"BANDIT STOLE MY HAT AGAIN!!!11!!!"

I think that fits pretty well for a SM64 or Super Mario Sunshine game, because in both games Mario can actually lose his hat!

Not sure what to tell you if other games work just fine. You can run it straight from the ZIP on 7 and below - you just lose save functionality when doing that. For Windows 8, you have to extract the game to a "safe" folder (such as one on your Desktop).

I recommend against playing this game on Windows 8 anyway though. There's a sound bug with Game Maker 8- games that causes them to crash when too many sounds are playing, which in this game can happen quite frequently when you have a higher score. Don't worry, you're not missing much.

My bad. I was downloading the game on Windows 8. This problem would be obviously not unfixable, it does not happen with GMStudio games like Hello's Super Mario Eclipse (I ran it on Windows 8 and it works fine)

From looking into the game's options, there is no option to disable sound. This would not be a good time for Windows 8 players.
But I think Windows 10, when it is out, can take down the problem with that one. (because it has the strengths of 7 and 8!)

Please tell me you're releasing this for mac too?

Maybe you should try using Wine. Wine can run almost any Windows program on your Mac. But since I use Windows, I'm quite not familiar with using Mac and Wine...

I always thought that Super Mario Land had sprites that were too small...

The small size of the sprites were intended for the small Gameboy screen, but AwesomeZack has optimized the SMW sprites into their teeny-weeny 8x8 forms, which look in proportion to the other original sprites!

That looks neat and is a great replica of the world map itself.

These are pretty cool! Though I'm not too fond of the big bullet bill. His eyes and teeth look really off to me, and some of the highlights look a little too big and rounded to me. Also, the big goombas shading looks a little strange. Other than that, I really like these! ^u^

For the big bullet bill, that is King Bill! By the way, the outlines were probably too thick. I'm not sure about that.
Also, I checked the Nipper Plants on the Mario Wiki. In almost all appearances (except SMAS:SMB3, when they are pinkish), they are white. I don't see any Orange Nipper Plants around.

Well, I suppose I get it now.

But, could you please shut down the argument now? We are on a SPRITE SHEET, not the "FLAME WAR TEMPLE".
Jul 5 2015, 5:47 AM See Page
Did you leave out the numbers? I cannot find them in the sheet. BTW good rip!
Jul 5 2015, 5:40 AM See Page
Now, now, now. Just get over it, please. It may not work out as well. Let's not start a flame war. MFGG means peace, you know. And it is family-friendly, I must say. You better stop making super-harsh criticism comments and try to improve it next time.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just giving you a piece of advice.

Lakitu seems kind of overpowered

The Lakitu powerup...I kinda have an idea to make that less overpowered: Use it in bonus areas! Ride the cloud...collect floating coins...hit enemies with a Spiny Egg for sure points...that's all!

EVERYBODY! STOP THE FIGHT! NOW!

Intro font? He kinda used Showcard Gothic for that, which is clearly not a good font standard for a Mario game. It's just too generic...

@Somari64 I think he means using Mario's feet as Yoshi's feet.

The "atmosphere"? What atmosphere? You mean the token dark-and-stormy-night that maybe scared us when we were seven?

The "experience"? What experience? The experience of walking forward and pressing "UP" in front of everything you see until something happens? And every so often hiding from Bloody Luigi in the most obvious hiding places where you know he'll never find you?

And when he DOES finally find you, you run down a long hallway and he gets closer and closer...

Oh, but here's the icing on the cake: if you stop, HE stops. Wow. Really? And let's not forget the falling-through-the-floor glitch that happens if you go left instead of heading up the pipe. That's always nice.

It's not scary, it's not creepy, it's not even surprising. But most of all, it's not fun.

The obvious thing is, (I'm not trying to be rude) you have been complaining about what's going so much. It's a bit like Five Nights at Freddy's but you should get the point of the game! Now, hand me over the flame war! I'll break the bond.

That looks great, but there has to be numbers 1-10 based on the official Mushroom Kingdom font seen in the game and the Moon Coin sprites. BTW nice work anyway.
