General Commentary and Game Overview
Mario's lost his hat. Now you must help him find it. While this storyline is original, it doesn't save the game from being just plain mediocre.

Pros -Very similar to the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros, except Mario's hat is missing

Cons -Very buggy -Frustrating at times -Mario's BALD?!!

Impressions
Gameplay
3 / 10
Bleh. This plays terribly. It uses the TGF platform movement, which isn't much of a problem until you reach the underground stage. Since it's such a closed space, the TGF collision problems begin to get to you. There's one point where you have to jump from one tiny platform to another. This is bad enough, but there's also a row of bricks just above your head. Not fun. If you manage to get past this, you'll find that the rest of the game isn't much better.

Graphics
8 / 10
These graphics are ripped completely from Super Mario All-Stars, and ripped well. The only two problems: most of the animations are too fast, and as I said before, Mario is bald. This looks goofy when his sideburns are still present.

Sound
4 / 10
Not so good. There are only a few midis (all taken from Super Mario Bros., of course), and no sound effects at all.

Replay
3 / 10
Nope. Not much replay value in this one. If you like dying repeadedly because of glitches and then getting to see Mario give you the finger at the "Game Over" screen, then you'll love to play this. Otherwise, delete it once you're finished.

Final Words
5 / 10
While Mario Loses His Hat isn't the worst platforming, "jump on your enemies' heads" type Mario fangame out there, it's still not that great. I believe the word I'm looking for is "average."
