it eventually gets too overwhelming, when there's so much going on the screen. I think it might be better if the Piranha Plant can eat more than one thing,

Wow, and I thought it wasn't hard enough! I saw the issue with being only able to eat one thing at a time, maybe I'll change it.

I have seen this tileset in a SMBX GFX pack. Are you the author?

Unusual idea! I like that you included the brick and the window from SML2!

Oooh this looks really good! And detailed, too.

I like that coral in the middle of the desert.

This idea came from Mario Maker, actually.

Anyway, this looks really good. I think the custom palette you made looks a lot better than the default imo.

Thank you so much!! The default palette is taken from 16-bits SMB. The tileset was made to be recolored.

I really like this, but I will say that those cactuses look huge in comparison to those palm trees. It's more of a perspective issue if anything.

I never noticed that, lol. I was paying attention to their shape rather than size. You can place them a few pixels lower than the palmtrees and it'll look natural...

Most fitting NES Wario I've seen!

A piece of advice: The sprite would look closer to perfect if you just made the round shape smoother...

Sweet palette!

Funny to see this sheet approved! It's a simple edit, and I thought the MFGG staff would consider sheets like this as "recolors" and wouldn't let them get published.

I checked and the dry bones sprites don't seem to be shaped just like the koopas in game (16-bit), they look more like edits from the 8-bit dry bones sprites in the SMB1 style.

I made some parts shaped differently on purpose.

it's better to make the base the same even if it's that simple to do. Not to mention Bullet Bills were very faithful to their NES Sprite in All-Stars except the arm animation.

I noticed that which isn't very consistent at all.

I don't understand what is the problem!

Also what made you choose to make Banzai Bill have red-eye?

I thought it made the sprite look more colorful :)

You did an amazing job with this! Do you plan to do others like Bowser Jr, items, the Toads, etc?

Thank you so much!!! I may make a sheet with items sometime soon, but there probably won't be Toad or Toadette sheets though.

Also how come Goombrat is pink in both the thumbnail but brown in the sheet itself?

I made it a rule to only use in-game palettes in this sheet. But I used my own palettes in the thumbnail and "example" pictures just to show that you can recolor them if you want to.

Really nice to include so many variations! But I'm interested about the 3D Ninji sprite. Did you draw it manually with reference or did you actually render the 3D model?

Either way, it's not as useful without the "Normal Map". That is, SMM uses a duplicate set of sprites colored in shades of red and blue that help the game simulate 3D lighting.

Awesome sheets! The only thing in question is your'e not making a SMB3/SMAS or SMW version of this?

Other people have already done that! :p

(Plus, the title cards in those games are different in that a letter may appear more than once but they don't look the same. You can't really make an accurate "sheet" of it with this in mind...)

Edit: Curse MFGG's comment system for not wanting me to do what I wanted to do.

Huh?

I was expecting a Weird Mario, but the weird mushroom by itself is fine too.

Hmmmm, but that would deserve its own sheet.

Looks great. the nails on the woodblocks look a bit flat, though the rest looks perfect

Thanks!!

The colored semi-solid block platforms you see in overworld levels in SMB3 also had flat nails in the SNES version. I thought I should keep them like this on the wood blocks to keep consistency and clarity.

also the barrels could make a good Ghost ship background... Mind if I make one

Of course! They are made to be edited too if you wish.

BTW some of the BG objects remind me of Sonic. Was that intentional?

If you're referring to the propellers, then yes, kinda. I thought of Flying Battery Zone.
