i like the style! Its hard to tell the difference between the poison and regular mushrooms when they are small though. Maybe you should make a feature (other than the eyes since they are hardly visible on the small sprites) to distinguish them.

The SFX in MUSHROOM PANCAKES is well-done (and you know it) and while the music isn't novel, it isn't a bunch of SMB doodles either.

4) The text boxes are sure to get on the nerves of everyone sooner or later? Every accepted review other than yours is evidence against that nitpicky statement of yours. The only one who's annoyed by the text boxes is you.


^This^ especially the sounds. To get a 3/10, they would have to be un-fitting and/or poor quality. They aren't either of those. Just becasue you find them boring doesnt mean they should get such a bad rating. Maybe that would bring it down some, but not so drastically.

Yeah i dont use game maker at all but im sure there is a way. Or you could put a new room for each enemy type and have the BG and scenery change depending on where you are.

Hmmmmm...... I LIKE IT! You made the graphics yourself which is already good. It also has turn based battles that work fairly well. Some suggestions:
-Dont make Mario play his death animation when he gets hit, just the first part
-Maybe put action commands and blocking (Its boring to just choose an attack and watch mario carry it out)
-Show us how much damage is done with marios and enemy attacks. (Like in the paper mario games, which this seems to be based on)
-A badge and FP system would be cool
-Make all the battles turn based. Its odd to just have some like that and looks like you gave up on it for enemies (whether that is or is not the case)
Other than these it is very good :)

The ponytail looking things look odd. The should go in the back instead of on the side of her head. They also shouldnt go strait down and need more shading to match the style. Good otherwise.

actually the body (including belly button) was most likely supposed to resemble a paper pinata, since goodies and confettie fly out of it when it is stomped. So Petey IS paper like everything else in the game

yeah he is. And this isn't meant to go with ttyd or sticker star sprites at all, and it really doesn't. It's a custom style, it just has the poses he has in sticker star.

No. Sticker star only is slightly less shaded than ttyd. This isn't exactly SS style, it just has poses from SS (thats why it is ss themed, not style) ;)
