General Commentary and Game Overview
This is a great remake of the Super Mario Bros. for the NES system. Contains many elements of the platformer. However, not all games are as great as they seem.

Pros -Excellent level design
-Great gameplay (for a demo)
-Good graphics (not great)
-Great music

Cons -Screen is small (hard to see)
-No save points
-Control of Mario is kind of awkward

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
I find the gameplay pretty great. The levels are designed very neatly. It even contains bonus levels. However, Mario is quite strange with his controls. His running speed, fall rate, etc. are rather unorthodox. Takes a while to get use to and it's quite frustrating really. I blame the engine and my laziness. Also there are no warp zones in the underground levels. They also incorperated features from new games such as "New Super Mario Bros." such as the Giant Mushroom. Everything is good but there are no save spots. Remember, this is a demo.

Graphics
7 / 10
The game graphics are a noticable aspect. It includes edited sprites from the original SMB and backgrounds from the Super Mario All-Stars game (SMAS) for the SNES system. Some of the color palettes are from the SMAS version of SMB which have been incorperated into the games design. The thing that really pisses me off is that the game doesn't have a full screen option. Playing this game hurts my eyes.

Sound
10 / 10
Amazing. Great choice of music. Songs depend on the element of the level.

Replay
6 / 10
I don't have very much fun replaying demos. They just get boring. Just like this game. Fun the first time, boring the next. It's like watching the same episode of Family Guy with in the hour.

Final Words
7 / 10
A good platformer. Needs save spots.

SMAS backgrounds. I was waiting for somebody to notice that, but I didn't submit a review. Every good game needs a slightly harsher review than the others.

Harsher pretty much hits it =)

What do you mean with Save Spots, Dr. SVH? Mid-level check-points or saving after you finished a world? Since saving after a finished world is in there.
Plus, I'm not too sure if you have noticed the unlockable stuff, since you said it has no replay value.
Also want to mention the physics, actually, Mario moves pretty much like in the original games, so I don't see how Mario's physics can be a problem for you other than having to play it with the keyboard.

Thanks for the critical review though, since like TM said, every game needs those too.

I think it's a bit rough. Yea, I was a bit too harsh. And I didn't know there was a save spot. Thank you for pointing that out. Also, I keep the 7/10 score because the screen is just to damn small.

I'm a bit late to say this but the game DOES go full-screen if you press F4, and I think it says so in the help file even. But who reads those anyway?
But I should have written that somewhere noticeable I guess.
