General Commentary and Game Overview
Super Mario Epic 3...well where do I begin. If you're probably here reading this review, I can only assume you've played Super Mario Brothers? What about Super Mario Brothers 2? I'm sure you've played Super Mario Brothers 3, or even the acclaimed Super Mario Mario World.

Well, it doesn't really matter if you have or not; consider Super Mario Epic 3 the "greatest hits" equivalent of Mario platformers. It combines every factor that made those games new, great, and entertaining of their time (and today) and reintroduces them in a smooth engine like no other fangame has done before.

Pros -Smooth as ice
-AI is fantastic
-Bunny Ears
-Luigi!
-Level design is of professional quality

Cons -The download is a...demo?

Gameplay
10 / 10
Like I so flairingly illustrated in my overview, this game combines many elements from all past Mario Platformers, and compiles them in an engine that almost rivals that of the original Nintendo made products. Mario does his dash, his jump, the bunny ears hover - everything works incredibly smoothly. What's most surprising is how smoothly it runs even in demo form - I'm eagerly anticipating what new surprises Jeff has in store for us in terms of gameplay.

Graphics
9 / 10
Hey, they've been used in fangames many times before. But that hardly lowers my score - they all fit. Absolutely perfectly. Epic 2 had minor graphical discrepencies, but they seem to be fixed in this game.

Sound
7 / 10
All the sound effects fit accordingly, but I can only hope jeff finds some more interesting backtracks. For a game to be absolutely "Epic" it's going to need something more than that of music we've heard many times before - of course, this is a demo, meaning it's possibly only a temporary solution. But, Jeff, I hope you can cook up some snazzy remixes or something, because that would be insanely radical.

Replay
8 / 10
It's only a demo, but it should still give you a fair amount of entertainment. Come back and forth to this puppy solely as a reminder for how bodacious the final product will be.

Final Words
9 / 10
Just as SME2 was much more than an incremental upgrade to the first game, Jeff is going to make that leap again with SME3. A new engine; a new plot; a new Epic. Download this now.
