General Commentary and Game Overview
GeneralGuy's "Paper Mario World 2," depending on how you look at it, could be considered a throwback to the olden days of fangaming, but not in the way you would expect. While it bears the "Paper Mario World" namesake, it does not in any other way pay homage to Superadammario's "classic" fangame. In fact, it could be compared to fangames more along the lines of Mario Left the Cheese Out, Mario's Mansion, and of course, Super Mario Pandemonium, as far as gameplay and design are concerned.

Why this game bears the "Paper Mario World" namesake is bound to become one of MFGG's greatest mysteries. Perhaps it was an attempt to draw attention to this game?

Pros -Well, the graphics are nice, I suppose.

Cons -It has nothing to do with Paper Mario World whatsoever.
-Dull, uninspired gameplay and design leave the game with little to no fun to be had.

Gameplay
2 / 10
Remember the hammer-based fangames of yesteryear? You play as Ninja's Paper Mario sprite, squashing enemies with your hammer as you trek towards the rightmost end of the level. If you dig through some of the older titles here at MFGG, you'll find that this concept has been done to death in the past - and most of the time, with generally better results... even though they weren't even that interesting to begin with.

One element which may raise some complaints in particular with this game is the fact that touching an enemy (when your hammer isn't drawn) will reset the whole game. And yes, this means that you cannot stomp on enemies without the game resetting itself. On one end, this could raise some serious Super Mario Pandemonium-styled frustration, but on the other, this is easily remedied with a laughable password system - in fact, the very same one from "Dodge the Shyguys 2," another unofficial sequel. Just enter the number of the stage you wish to visit in the password field, and presto - instant access to each of the game's nine increasingly bland levels.

All in all, the unofficial "Paper Mario World 2" is not a charmingly poor game like Paper Mario World, but rather it is just a poor one.

Graphics
7 / 10
While the graphics aren't anything you can't find in the sprites section of MFGG, they all blend together rather well. Just don't expect anything new or interesting.

Sound
5 / 10
Your average selection of midi music, mixed in with a small handful of sound samples that, for the most part, sound somewhat out of place. Mario's misused jumping sound will get on your nerves rather quick.

Replay
1 / 10
This is a very uninteresting, uninspired fangame that is also lacking in the "fun" department, so there really isn't much reason to come back to it at all.

Final Words
2 / 10
In a manner of speaking, this unofficial sequel is everything the original Paper Mario World is not. But don't fret, PMW fans, "PMW2" is at least still a poor game. Just a different type of poor game.
