This is some of the most amazing SMB3 16-bit custom spriting I've seen in a LONG TIME. Don't stop what you're doing!

So let's see...the Hammer Bros. Suit was invented in 1989 in Super Mario Bros. 3. The Boomerang Bros. Suit was invented in 2011 or 2012 in Super Mario 3D Land. (They completely screwed up that damn Tanooki Suit as well.) Nintendo, why didn't you realize there could be a Boomerang Bros. suit WHEN YOU INVENTED THE HAMMER BROS. SUIT!?!?

Man, these are awesome, Zack! God-awful pun aside, these are outstanding! Did you make these from scratch or did you use a base? I also like the DryBone Yoshi concept; guess everything's going DryBones now, with NSMB2 and all.

Quote (MarioBros 101 on Sep 6 2012, 10:09 PM) It was... I dunno but the game was Mario & Luigi: The Hunt for King Boo, I believe. Well, then, that's not MvsDK, now, is it? |

Quote (Nicholascooney on Apr 6 2012, 8:39 PM) Um weren't Tanoombas (Tanooki Tailed Goombas) in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga before Super Mario 3D? Tanoombas in MLSS were a different species of Goomba. They were born with tails, have a brighter skin color, and have a leaf growing out of their heads. Tail Goombas in SM3DL are just Goombas with tails; the story, literally, is that the wind blew Tanooki suits (or leaves in this game, for some stupid reason) into the faces of several enemies. The story and the fact that they screwed up the Tanooki Suit are two of the biggest reasons why I will never sentence myself to playing SM3DL again...unless I'm really bored, and I mean, REALLY bored. |

Quote (AwesomeZack on Oct 5 2012, 8:01 PM) what's that? The attack from Metroid. It's also obtainable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Eggman decides to use it for the Casino Street Zone boss fight in Sonic 4: Episode 1. EDIT: Whoops, forgot to mention how awesome this is! Keep 'em comin', dude! |

Quote (Zero Kirby on Aug 27 2008, 4:53 AM) The colors are much better than the original SMW but I still hate the general shape of the sprites. SMW had a terrible sprite collection. Oh, come on, it's not THAT bad. The only problem I had was that Mario was kind of a dark pink (not really purple, but definitely not just "pink", either) and his overalls were a bright blue. Oh, and that Yoshi's arms are ORANGE. Aside from that, though, most of the graphics are fine. They could've made some graphics less "8-bit" but for Mario's first 16-bit game, it looks very nice. Now, moving on to the sheet. Some of the edited poses are, at best, okay, but the palette is just God-awful. Trying to make the lighter pixels on the outer side of some parts and the darker pixels on the inner parts? Bleh. The thumbnail is very nice, but the actual sprites just don't look that eye-pleasing. It's a good try, but try keeping dark pixels outside and light pixels inside. EDIT: Never mind, I was wrong about the whole "light pixels outside" thing. The palette is still somewhat ugly. Sorry if I sound like an ass, but that's my constructive criticism and I hope you take what I've said as such. |

Quote (CopperMario on Sep 10 2012, 2:58 AM) Bald, is an even older design. This is their current design: http://www.mariowiki.com/images/9/91/Pokey.PNG Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. I was trying to remember the current design, and I just kept getting that flower head. |

And that's another thing. This is one of Hello's latest games, and in the past, his games haven't had good reception. So why the hell comment if you have the feeling it's a bad game? That's like ICP haters posting disses on their music videos; if you don't like ICP, then why the hell even click on one of their videos? It's just a waste of time putting someone down via stupid comments with little to no content. Hello, don't listen to these people. Keep working on your Hello Engine. Make great games like this one and your games from the past. |

Question. In Giant Land, the blocks are 32 x 32 pixels, or two blocks wide, two blocks tall. So if the normal pipe is two blocks wide, shouldn't giant pipes be four blocks long instead of three? I never really understood that, but anyway, you did an amazing job on this! I really think an 8-bit community game project should be made with your graphics!
