EDIT: Also, why do the small sprites have more walljump sprites than the super Mario/Luigi sprites?

The first and third frames for the Small Mario/Luigi wall jumping animation are just the standard jumping frame straight from SMW. He probably figured it wasn't necessary to do the same for the Normal Mario/Luigi versions of the animation.

Interesting that you'd criticize this game (a scrapped game from four years ago, mind you) and attempt to explain how the game is designed poorly when the games you've submitted to this site make it bluntly obvious that you don't know the first damn thing about game design yourself. Rushing to make an unplayable or near-unplayable game without bothering to polish it or even making it look decent does not give you the right to bash other peoples' work, especially if it's a scrapped game like this one. Even if you've made a few points here, this review is still entirely hypocritical. It's like making a bad sandwich, seeing someone else make a sandwich that's just as bad, and criticizing them for making a bad sandwich. Also:

Terrible. Aside from the...Spiny eggs?...at the bottom, these look like incredibly mediocre (and not very useful) edits of the original sprites. Also:

Why would it be Overused?
He/she means he/she hopes these don't become overused, like how people generally overuse SMB3 graphics (as well as SMB3-styled graphics) in fan games. Though personally, if I were developing a fan game, I'd just stick to the original sprites.

Kinda looks more like a block than a coin, but they're still pretty good overall.

What The Original Pillow Shaded?

This is not pillow-shaded; there is a distinctive light source close to the top of the meter. By the looks of it, the artist made a ball graphic, and then pasted lines over it to split it into eighths.

The both of these bootlegs I ripped from are nightmares. And I don't know which one your talking about.

He's talking about Super Mario Bros. 4: A Space Odyssey. Cool title, yes, but good Lord, the graphics are ugly as sin and the game over screen is nightmare fuel. If you don't believe me and/or don't know what it looks like:

Unfortunately, I doubt many read them before submitting, but they're still good to have.

Never mind reading them before submitting something; nobody reads the rules period.

What the crud is happening?

People who lack social skills and basic knowledge of how to write comments that follow this website's guidelines are running around posting pointless filler comments without a care in the world. In other words, just a normal day at MFGG.

I'll never understand the point of these "joke" games. Are they an excuse for unpolished controls that are way too slippery and sloppy charater animations?

I think what joke games are SUPPOSED to do is get a laugh out of people. You know, because that's the point of a joke?

I think it should be this: if you shake a vine, you get a wireframe (like in SMW), and if you set the wireframe to be 1 block wide, it becomes a ladder.

If they were to add horizontally-expandable wire fences, they'd either need to make a second climbing animation for SMB1 (for both Mario and all Mystery Mushroom costumes), or only make them available in all other skins. The climbing animation in SMB1 would look incredibly awkward for wire fences (and, to an extent, ladders).

I can't wait for SMB3 SMM 16-bit sheet that includes some extras.

Then maybe you should MAKE THEM YOURSELF!!!

Also you need to change swimming poses.

What exactly needs to be changed? It's not very helpful to suggest (or in this case, rudely demand) changes without being specific about what needs changing.

Off Topic?: Some sprites from Mario 4: Space Odyssey Mario are also in Mario and Wario. The others are edited off of by the Russian Bootleggers.

Not really off-topic, but not really worth mentioning, since Mario's sprite is in the thumbnail. And yeah, pretty much all the graphics in this game were ripped from other Mario games, and, like most crappy bootlegs, the amount of clashing graphics is through the roof. And the palettes....*puke*

True; it's not a proper rip like yours. But nevertheless, they had still been ripped before.

you should make smb3 and smw too

Wow. On the exact same thread that I brought up how annoying it was to see spammed requests, another one pops up, and this time, the requester asks for something, the request gets denied, and the request is made again, while also quoting the denying statement. I'm ashamed for not starting this sooner, but I think I'll make a habit of reporting this kind of issue more often. In the meantime, 7x, if you want to see SMB3 and SMW versions of this sheet, why don't YOU make them?

The internet is a wild place!
But I didn't know that Looney Tuner Ian was badgering people to make 16 bit versions of stuff for an ENTIRE YEAR! holy crap!

He didn't start with the whole "MAKE AN ALL-STARS/16-BIT VERSION OF THIS!!!" crap until people started submitting Mario Maker-based sheets. He was just making really stupid requests; especially for things that had already been done before, but didn't know about since he was too lazy to use the search features that are right at the top of the "Sprites" page.

Technically, Flusak didn't make a request (unlike many of his previous comments), he stated an optimal scenario. It was not strictly relevant, but also not punishable according to the Submission Rules's Comments section.
Yeah but that is making hints which Ian also did as well.

Yeah, pretty much what gamermakerguy said. It's still incredibly irritating, especially after having to put up with Ian's spamming for about a year.
