General Commentary and Game Overview
Late Night Mario 3 is the final game in the "Late Night Mario Trilogy" of games. It serves as a satisfying conclusion to an epic storyline fraught with drama and action.

Of course the Late Night Mario series is known for being a bunch of joke games, though Late Night Mario 2 stepped it up a bit with something resembling good gameplay. Late Night Mario 3 continues this trend by being pretty good! But you're also probably wondering why it's a ten-outta-ten. Well, read on...

Pros + Still just as quirky as ever.
+ Good soundtrack!
+ Gameplay has been made even better.
+ Fantastic boss fights.
+ The final boss especially is amazing.
+ A good story that while it's still a joke, at least ties the joke together with its origin.

Cons - Pretty short.

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
Late Night Mario tasks Mario with saving the day from the Kremits once again, since for some reason they're attacking. But Kermit the Green Kremit says there's a way to stop 'em.

Mario can now run and climb ropes and whatnot. There's also Warp Zones which make Mario's jump much floatier. Other than these changes it's not much different from Late Night Mario 2 but it doesn't need to be spectacular. The gameplay is simple and that's how it should be.

What HAS changed are the boss fights, which are pretty amazing in their own right. They're fun, challenging, and the final boss especially is something to behold. If only more fangames had boss fights like that one.

The story's here just to finish the joke, really. It's a funny story though, if you've been with the joke from the beginning. So you'd need to know of the existence of Late Night Topic to understand the whole thing.

All in all, a simple ending to a simple series of games. Works for me.

Graphics
8 / 10
I like the visual style of this series. Mario's got a very unique sprite and even though the backgrounds obviously clash with everything else and it's really simple... it's really charming, too.

Sound
9 / 10
The soundtrack's fantastic. All the music fits with where it is placed and sounds good to boot. Well, one song's kind of annoying, but it was in the first game if I recall correctly and is used here for a nostalgia level so whatever!

Replay
4 / 10
Replay suffers. It's a really short game and kind of easy. But you'll notice this game got an overall ten-outta-ten. Here's why.

This is a fangame that represents what fangaming should be. The game was made for fun, to be fun, and to be nothing more than fun. It's not trying to be as good as an official Mario game, it's just trying to be good and fun in its own way, official canon and gameplay be damned. It's got soul, something all the Hello Engine Clones don't have. It's its own thing and is never something it isn't.

Final Words
10 / 10
A thrilling conclusion to a nocturnal trilogy.
