I sorta see what you were trying to do with the background, but in my opinion the result doesn't look the best. Just because Sunken Ghost Ship's background has resized tiles doesn't mean you should do it as well.

My opinion on the thwimp still stands; it should be more that the original SMW sprite with thicker outlines.

I meant something like the VLDC8 song that was posted here, the track you posted sounds more like music that you'd hear in a level.

Also, to comment on this sheet... it's pretty good! Like the texture on the cliffs.

12 players is already chaotic enough. 24 players would just result in you getting bumped and hit with items all the time.

The palette IS the problem, since it's inaccurate to the SNES original. Not to mention that you can't recolor the sprites because some colors in the palette become the same shade as white in that game.
