General Commentary and Game Overview
One of Thunder Dragon's most popular games from the olden era of Bowser Tech; a.k.a, MFGG's precursor. It is (as the name probably gives away) the sequel to the first MarioQuest, and with what it lacks severely in unbuggy gameplay, it makes up for in uniqueness and a comedic story.

Pros Humorous dark plot
Originality all over the place!
The game's very fun all around
Focus is on having FUN with the fangame

Cons Really buggy gameplay
Sprites tend to clash often
Levels get repetitive sometimes

Impressions
Gameplay
7 / 10
I wasn't expecting much upon replaying this, but the game was still fun, regardless of using the default 8-way movement engine. It still manages to be playable and a unique experience, positively speaking that is. Aside from the glitches... well, there isn't much I can say that would hurt this point. Aside from the level design. It's mostly the same thing repeating, with not much variation, but it doesn't become a huge problem, so it's not bad all around.

Graphics
7 / 10
The graphics, all things considered, are clashy. But, looking back, this might have been completely intentional. I know this was during the era of bad games made in TGF, but take a look at other games made around that time; most of them do make an effort to look somewhat professional, even with the standards of fangames at the time. This game was clearly from the start not meant to be taken seriously, so I won't hold this against the game at all. Besides, the graphics actually ADD to the humor, and having the characters say these funny little bits of dark humor without moving their mouths or changing expression is quite the laugh!

Sound
8 / 10
The midis, while not high quality havens of all mankind, fit very well with the levels and are all apart of the fun. The sound effects can get annoying sometimes, but they don't really get in the way all too often. Besides, if they do, you can turn them off or on any time from the menu. Quite a useful option, Clickteam!

Replay
10 / 10
This is just one of those games I absolutely love playing sometimes, and it's always nice to come back to it and remember when the best fangames were the ones that didn't take themselves seriously. To me, that still holds true to this day; most fangames try and be like the big ones made by Nintendo (usually failing), and it's always the silly ones that catch my attention nowadays. All in all, this game is worth replaying every now and then.

Final Words
9 / 10
MarioQuest 2 is a fangame that grabs your attention with it's somewhat dark humor, creative ideas and overall being a fun experience. I'd highly recommend it any day.
