Pros | Over 20 levels, hilarious cutscenes, MarioKar levels are fun, and it's challenging. |
Cons | Some resized graphics, levels sometimes get repetitive, cheap bosses. |
Gameplay 9 / 10 |
Mario walks in eight directions, shooting various weapons. Sounds easy, but works well! There are also some levels where you must hit ! switches and open passages, you get to drive in a car, and the cutscenes are hilarious. The levels are diverse from each other. It seems a bit unfair, in the later levels, where objects just shoot objects in your direction. And the normal walking around can get tedious at times. |
Graphics 7 / 10 |
Resized graphics= bad. Alot of the enemies and the Mario sprite itself are resized to fit the big window, and doesn't come out to well. The Mario sprite is from Mario RPG, and the other sprites are from various games. |
Sound 8 / 10 |
Sound from various games, and the music fits in good. Normal SMW wavs. |
Replay 10 / 10 |
This game is one of the first games with a save game feature, so you can always come back and resume your progress. Once you beat this huge game, you can go into a portal and play any level you want. |

Now, by looking at the grades above you may think this is a biased review. But I just had so much fun with it, and that's what matters. It is obvious that a lot of effort went in this game. I 100% agree that this game deserves a ten. I enjoyed playing this game so much, and is a true classic in my eyes. |
