General Commentary and Game Overview
February 1st, 2008. I stumbled upon the final version of Paper Bowser World 2. I decided to try it out, considering the greatness that was Paper Bowser World 1, so I began to download it. I watched my brother play it first, and it looked fun. So when it was done downloading, I played it, obviously. Let me tell you, this game looks a lot better then it plays.
 
Pros + Amazing graphics, though they don't have the same "charm" as the original
+ Bowser has a nice voice
+ Mega Bowser :3
+ good variety of enemies
 
Cons - when you get hit, you fly around everywhere for about 3 seconds
- painfully easy
- strange password system
- fairly short
- Bowser walks so slow it's not funny

Paper Bowser 2 plays somewhat like the original, but with several non-overlookable problems. As mentioned earlier, you bounce around like a pinball when struck by an enemy, which becomes extremely tedious after a while. Also mentioned earlier is Bowser's walking speed. He walks EXTREMELY slow. No exaggerating. Seriously. My MAIN problem with the game however is the mainly puzzle based gameplay. While the first PBW followed the SMB gameplay closely (with same amount of easiness mind you) this one is mainly composed of puzzles like stomping switches to make blocks transparent. This is cool the first couple levels, it later becomes boring and bland.
 
Graphics

VERY nice graphics. I THINK I could be wrong, but I think Toodles himself drew all the graphics. You can tell all the work Toodles puts into his sprites. He obviously uses official sprites for reference, but they are hand-drawn.
 
Sound
5 / 10
Call me biased, but I've always hated the sound in the Paper Mario games (not counting voices of course). But I don't count sounds (or graphics) in my total scores.
 
Replay
6 / 10
I don't think I'll play this again, but being a die hard fan of the original Paper Bowser, I might play through it again out of boredom. Kammy Koopa, who was playable in the first game (which made the game harder) doesn't return in this game (in the playable sense) which brings down replay value.

Woah, harsh. I didn't see this coming.

Personally, I don't consider the levels to be puzzle-based. I tried to create a couple of interesting puzzles, but for the most part, I really just used the switch blocks to make levels more intersting. There were plenty of complaints that Paper Bowser World got boring before the end, so I tried to add some things to mix things up a bit. As for Bowser walking slow, that was the result of me trying to make a the game feel more like the original PM2 segments. The Ground Pound was, too. If I made him go faster it felt out of character. Serioiusly. (Though I did fudge the gravity and make him jump higher than I had originally planned.)

Also, why the sudden emergence of people disliking the way Bowser gets hurt? No one ever said a word about it in the demo, so I left it alone, and now, BOOM! Everyone hates it!

EDIT: There. I've submitted an updated version that changes the way Bowser gets hurt. He no longer bounces all around.

Ouch. Didn't expect this; I thought it was great. But then again, different opinions make a total view, so I can't say it's not needed, even if I don't like it.

He walks fairly fast on my computer. Maybe you have lots of lag.
