General Commentary and Game Overview
Although it's not really new, New Super Mario Kart is quite simply, a remake of the SNES game, Super Mario Kart. It adds a few new features here and there, and improves the 3D capabilities, meaning that this game is MFGG's first ever 3D Fangame... which means it's just begging for reviews.

Pros 3D, first decent Mario Kart Fangame.

Cons Glitchy, movement just doesn't feel right, even with "realistic physics" turned on, SMK was more fun.

Gameplay
4 / 10
GameMaker can't handle Mode7, like the SNES did with SMK. This feature isn't really needed anyway, since GameMaker can handle 3D if you know what you're doing. NSMK is the first game on MFGG to show off 3D skills, as mentioned already, but it doesn't neccessarily mean the gameplay is great. In fact, the game doesn't really feel good at all, with no decent physics meaning turning and such just doesn't feel "real". Naturally a Mario game isn't intended to be realistic, but the movement here fails considerably when compared to the official games. It's a fangame made in GameMaker though, so it'll never be as good. The game offers a whole collection of new items, many of which from New Super Mario Bros (Hence the "New" prefix). These work reasonably well, but aren't really neccessary because they don't really offer anything 'new' to the Mario Kart formula. For instance, Mega Mushroom works a lot like invinciblity, so no wall crushing happens, and the tiny mushroom simply shrinks your car like the lightning powerup would. There's also a lot of items that are left on the road, so the place is covered in litter by the last lap. Some very good ideas, but not really anything special. The characters have a habit of getting stuck on corners, and I managed to rank 1st a few times even when it was obvious I was in last place.

Graphics
6 / 10
SMK graphics populate the scene, as probably expected. With various settings changed you can activate the 3D stuff, making it look a lot better than the flat, Mode7 look of the SNES game, but this can lag your computer if it's not up to scratch. It looks impressive at first, mainly because it's the first 3D fangame on this site, but also because SMK wasn't the best looking game for the SNES. Some of the items don't look so good either, but it's not as bad as many fangames... there's room for improvement though.

Sound
5 / 10
The game lacks a lot of sounds that you would expect to be there. MIDI music is present, which isn't too bad I guess, but there are very little sound effects at all other than the occasional item. There are no engine noises, or notification of players passing you by, and it feels unfinished overall. It's not ridiculously unbearable with lack of sound, but it wouldn't go a miss.

Replay
7 / 10
Replay value is actually quite high, as there are just as many secret characters to unlock as there are normal characters. There are also 3 CCs (50, 100 and 150) and 3 cups (Mushroom, Flower and Star (Although the Star Cup supposedly isn't finished as of yet)). The gameplay can put you off playing again though, which is a shame.

Final Words
6 / 10
The first of it's kind, but 3D doesn't save the game from being much fun. It's nice to look at, but gameplay is pretty poor.

Real mario kart games DONT USE REAL KART PHYSICS! It just looks that way with all the the sprites nintendo used when the player turns! So if you dont like the turning in NSMK, i guess you dont like Mario Kart at all.

You've said that exact same comment more than twice.
