Alot of things could be quickly edited to have the correct amount of colors. Like Shell Mario. Just give it Mario's brown. Why add that other color? It looks somewhat similar so it would work.

They fit the style pretty well, except for the fact that the overworld poses look too blocky and the in-battle poses should have them facing left a little.
