Pros | +Pretty effects +Creative and unpredictable, just like the first two installments +Creative power-ups +Collectable items for replay value +Includes a hard mode |
Cons | -Only one level -Collectable items don't do anything |
Gameplay 10 / 10 |
Well, it doesn't appear to be another SMB3 clone this time, unlike it's previous two installments. But it's still a creative and unpredictable game, like it's previous two installments. There is even power-ups, which are all creative and are based on a non-Mario related game. The levels are focused on these power-ups, and they don't feel like they are slapped on the face. There is also checkpoints here, because the game would be a bit hard without them. I have no problem with the gameplay, so I'm giving it a 10. |
Graphics 8 / 10 |
Unlike the two previous installments, there is less clashing graphics. There is still some clashing graphics, but it's only minor clashing this time. Those effects look amazing! I even liked those power-ups that appear sometimes. The backgrounds are also nice and pretty! |
Sound 8 / 10 |
I like the music, and they are fitting. Most of them are from SMB3, but I still like them. The sounds are good, Luigi's voice effect when he gets the Fuzzy Mushroom even sounds a little funny. A few sounds might get a little annoying, but they are great otherwise. It gets a 8 though, because they don't feel that special or anything to me. |
Replay 3 / 10 |
Since there is only one level, there isn't a whole lot to do. But there are collectable items, which they don't anything though. There is also a hard mode, which I would count it as replay value. |
