Gameplay
7 / 10
The game play is the same as in most Mario games. Run and jump your way through the level and get to the end. The twist in this game is that Mario can pull off Captain Falcon's trademark move Falcon Punch to bash the enemies. The engine in the game is great. Mario responds well, physics are good (but slippery) and Mario or enemies never get stuck into anything. Mario's health bar is unnecessarily big though and it's way easier to die from falling into a hole, because of the slippery physics. Your health depletes on its own and serves more of a purpose as a "timer" rather than a health bar. You can restore health by PAWNCHING enemies. Luckily it’s way easier to hit with the Falcon Punch than in Super Smash Brothers games.

Slippery physics are the biggest flaw of the game. It’s too easy to miss aim your jump right in front of an enemy, get bumped into a pit and die. Some mini checkpoints would help the case, but that would actually kill the challenge. Level design is rather uninspired and only consists of landscape with enemies and platforms.

Graphics
8 / 10
Graphics may not be the best ever, but they look good and go well together. Enemies animate well and it’s fun to watch them getting bashed around.

Sound
8 / 10
We have a rocking tune from F-Zero, that sets a good mood for the game. Sound effects while aren’t plentiful do their job and aren‘t your everyday Mario sounds.

Replay
6 / 10
Game has only one level, but has replay value in form of unlockable difficulty levels and trophies. Trophies are earned by completing specific tasks, like defeating 4 enemies with one PAWNCH. Some trophies take some real effort to earn and can keep you occupied for hours.
