Pros | + Fantastic Wario engine + Custom graphics + Decent music + Lengthy, interesting levels |
Cons | - Somewhat sloppy graphics - A few minor annoyances (MIDIs, health) |
Gameplay 10 / 10 |
The gameplay is wonderful, to say the least. It's a functional Wario engine, complete with charging and ground pounds. There are cutscenes and game-unique enemies, as well as a few puzzles and a lot of gems to find. The game also has a plot. The dialogue seems somewhat mediocre, but I acknowledge that fact that kjellm isn't a professional writer. The point came across, and that was enough. |
Graphics 9 / 10 |
The graphics are all custom; kudos to you! But just because they're custom doesn't mean they're amazing. A few things look a little wonky to me, namely, Wario and the enemies. The levels are a little too bland for my tastes and for a Wario game. There's a lot of pillow shading and blurriness as well. Nothing clashes, however, and I can tell work was put into the graphics: this will boost it's score. |
Sound 7 / 10 |
The MIDIs included are not too commonly used in this community. They're still MIDIs, however, and somewhat annoying ones at that. The sounds effects were of varying quality and bit-size, but they got the job done. |
Replay 9 / 10 |
W&MM has three save files that you can use to your liking. The top score for each level is saved, so there's always a reason to go back. This game is fun to play with; I can see someone wanting more later. |
