Yoshi's Clicker DEMO
preview
By: TooMuchMario
Just a little test to see if this is worth working on further. Yoshi must click on fruit to collect them and raise your score by 50. However, Bombs will lower your score by 100 if you try and collect them. This game can be defined as the Gamemaker tutorial game with a Yoshi theme. Just one level for now but I hope I can make this a full game with secrets and bonus levels. Level progress might be like Mario Bros. (Arcade) As in. The bonus level isn't a secret but a challenge. I hope this is received well. Block ripped by Morrissette. Mario and Luigi Battle Background SMB3 Style Made by Chrispriter. Made in Gamemaker 8.0 Pro. Sorry for the song quality.
Completion: Demo Genre: Minigame
Franchise: Mario

I'll try to be nice since this seems to be your first submission.

First, you've basically stated that this game is "a tutorial with X theme". Tutorials are meant to show how something works; they're not intended to be good games in and of themselves. Game Maker's click tutorial is meant to show the basics of using the program. As a game, it is simplistic and boring.

Your game is that tutorial with only insubstantial changes, so it is also simplistic and boring. I'd suggest making something simple from scratch, like a Pac-Man clone or a shoot-em-up. Perhaps you could look at MFGG's Action or Minigame categories for inspiration.

Furthermore, you should never have to apologize for having crappy content in your game (in this case, the music). It isn't that hard to find decent quality music. Heck, MFGG even has some under its sounds category.

Ah, Yes. Baby steps I suppose? Perhaps making something like this is a little much. I guess I was fooled by the simplistic nature of the tutorial game. I Assumed it would work as a competitive game. Including a high score and all. But maybe I should focus on single-player action and not semi-multi-player. Thank you for the response. I'll try a little harder next time.

This game isn't that bad. I made a game similar to this. But, it got declined saying it needs more work. I'm going to upload it again soon. Back to the game. There's 2 things you need to change in this. 1. The music its a terrible midi version of the SMW Theme. 2. The sprites. There's nothing wrong with the sprites. It's just that there too small to click. Other than those problems good job!

If your game got declined you should consider posting your game in the forums first to get feedback, then improve it based on the feedback you get so it can be featured on the main site
