General Commentary and Game Overview
Mario descends into an unbelievably treacherous cavern in this highly-alliterative game, which echoes of Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and The Great Cave Offensive from Kirby Super Star.

Pros + Online high score feature
+ Quality graphics
+ Good game setting
+ Nice music
+ Randomized level structures add replayability and unpredictability

Cons - Game is very hard
- Only one level
- Big file size for a relatively short game

Impressions
Gameplay
7 / 10
This game takes place in a cavern hidden deep underground. Like most places of this type, there's treasure a-plenty - not to mention the falling spikes, Podoboos, trap floors, and other nasty stuff. You're trying to collect as many treasures as possible while avoiding the traps. There are also a few potions hidden along the way, allowing you to refill your energy. I wish the author toned down the difficulty a little bit; some of the falling spikes are nearly impossible to avoid, and the invisible spring traps are kind of mean. Even with these annoyances, though, it's one of the better and more original games I've seen lately.

Graphics
9 / 10
Deadly Danger Dungeon's graphics feel fresh and suit the game's environment very nicely. This isn't another Hello clone.

Sound
9 / 10
The two songs played in this game are MP3s from OC Remix's "Serious Monkey Business" project - and two of the better songs from that album, if I say so myself. Even though both songs are from Donkey Kong Country 2, they fit very nicely with the game's suspenseful atmosphere. The high bitrates, however, make this a relatively lengthy download.

Replay
7 / 10
This isn't a very long game, but the online high score feature provides an incentive to keep playing and trying to beat your old scores. The randomized level designs also increase replayability.

Final Words
8 / 10
Deadly Danger Dungeon is the kind of game that reminds me why I still play fangames. A fresh and creative - and rather tough - game, this one is definitely worth the download.

Aye, a good review. You've touched on a lot of the game's features and given what seems fair scorings for them all.

Thanks for your words.
