So I suppose there won't be another game like Mario Minigame Mayhem slipping past the quality control this time around, huh? :P

Quote (LSF Games on Apr 18 2013, 4:37 PM) I kinda taught the theme of Green Hill Zone was kinda fitting to the levels cause it's harmoning to a sky level. I guess Kirby Music in a Mario game is OK, too. I'll write me the cons on a paper and check out the bugs. Could you please tell me where you taught the level design is odd? Maybe if you chose a different GHZ remix.... |

Quote (LSF Games on Apr 18 2013, 10:45 AM) You know, I was kinda disapointed, when I saw this review. I put a lot more effort into this (4 months!) than other fangames, that have this score. Unfortunately, there's quite a lot that butchered the 4 months of effort Quote (LSF Games on Apr 18 2013, 10:45 AM) The ducking jump glitch is definetly not my fault; it was intended in DeeY's engine and I don't know how to fix that ****ing bug. It seems to be a wall collision bug. Perhaps you can see what's going on there. Quote (LSF Games on Apr 18 2013, 10:45 AM) You know, this game is to 85% custom made and not a sh***y Hello clone. I applaud that. The problem here is that this is not even good of an original game. Quote (LSF Games on Apr 18 2013, 10:45 AM) and this is what it deserves, only because you can't laugh at the jokes? I tried to put the typical Mario jokes and YTp jokes in it to make some funny moments and bamm! I got a 2/10? Hoooold on a minute there, bud. I wrote too large of a review for you to say that I was only complaining about the unfunny jokes. Besides, they really weren't funny. They were just strange and/or cringe-inducing. Maybe Gwanom's appearance was humorous, but for only the first time I saw him. |

Quote (ipuresonic99 on Apr 18 2013, 1:52 AM) I posted the demo, then I asked for tips on the forum while it was still in the queue. It was on the queue for almost two weeks! Why wasn't the forum done before posting in the queue? |

The main problem here is that it's very, very generic. It's not only standard fare, but there's no real variety in platforming. I just simply see myself running and jumping. No power-ups, no gimmicks, no unique levels, and even no Run button.

Quote (DJane Coco on Apr 17 2013, 9:42 PM) A 2/10? Don't you think you're a little harsh with the score? It wasn't that bad. Although it definitely is more polished than other games that deserve the score, it was a PAINFUL chore to play through. With really bad level design, forced ducking, cheap enemy placement (including the lots of Hammer Bros per level), etc.....I just really couldn't give it a higher score. |

Quote (TiKi on Apr 14 2013, 2:24 PM) Wrong, wrong, wrong! Even in my time on MFGG, I find that the games that are the best are those that take several years to make, and full length games made in only months tend to get lambasted. EX Psycho Waluigi and Toad Strikes Back EX 2 SMB: Dual Dash and SMB: Bowser's Terror There have been good games released within months. I mean, that IS still kinda of a long development period (That is - if it were around 6+ months). Games that have been made within days, however, suffer some pretty bad consequences. |

Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 13 2013, 12:03 AM) No, actually, in the comments, you said that's how you wanted it to be, and you weren't going to change it. Absolutely not true. Was the first level in the YouTube video the same as this? I don't think so. Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 13 2013, 12:03 AM) Do you know what a tech demo even is? If it's going to make things easier for you, do you want me to call it an Experimental Demo next time? Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 13 2013, 12:03 AM) I'm pretty sure if the game hurted your eyes, I don't think you would play it, like I stated before. If a game had super horrible graphics, it would ruin your first impression. First impressions always count. And I already know that about the coins. The original engine didn't have coins. Coins were in the engine. It was the collecting being added to the Score as points I was talking about. Oh, and lots of other things that will be the final game, including basic things like enemies. And as I've stated, this demo is not what the final product will look like. In fact, some backgrounds and stuff drawn for the final may actually not look half-bad, even if I do say so myself. If anything, the actual Somari 2 is where you'll get your first impressions. Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 13 2013, 12:03 AM) "(I can't even say that, because it's just a background, and they put objects over it.)" Learn to read. Quote (Jack-of-All Games on Apr 12 2013, 10:35 PM) If you say you can't say that, then why did you anyway? ^ "Learn to read?" Next time, before you insult me, look over the comments again. |

Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 12 2013, 10:20 AM) 1. Great! You took the critique? 2. Oops, that was a mistake on my part. You shouldn't of called this a tech demo, it's a regular demo. 3. It still doesn't look like something I'd get all excited about. 4. (Like I stated before, it's not a tech demo.) 5. Well, graphics do play a factor in the overall experience of the game, and if some game has horrendously bad graphics, I seriously wouldn't want to play it. So it does really play a major role in the experience. 5.5 I really don't like how you do this 1,2,3 comment aproach. 6. Sir, that was a very very very very small change. And I'm talking about this demo, not the one on your Youtube account. 7. This is what I pointed out in the review, if you actually read it. I said that there aren't even any tiles. 8. Where do I even say anything about a story? 9. No, they're not "not that great", they are very very bad. 1. It was already going there. 2. It's not a regular demo, because it does not represent how the final game will look, and to begin with, too. 3. Then....I dunno what to say. Maybe if I eventually make a trailer or something? I dunno. 4. Yes it is. 5. Everything else can still make up for it 5.5 That's how I do multiple points on a single comment. 6. That's why I was just pointing it out, not trying to argue that there is a major difference Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 12 2013, 10:20 AM) -Very bad tiles. 7. There you go. If you say you can't say that, then why did you anyway? Quote (Double Agent Luigifan on Apr 12 2013, 10:20 AM) since it gives absoluteness no story 8. There you go. I don't guess these things. 9. .............Okay. |

1. I don't think anything clashed here? Anyway, at least most of the final game is going to be entirely hand-drawn anyway, including backgrounds, soooo.... 2. I've heard no such rule, but whatever. They accepted it. Either way, I wouldn't have cared much. The fact that they did accept it is admittedly kinda nice, though. 3. The direction the game is headed is in one or two of my YouTube videos. 4. I thought tech demos make sense? I mean, I think it is a good idea to experiment with the engine and see what kind of design I could give it. Granted, the design here was pretty bland, but I've improved on it since, anyway. 5. People don't (or at least shouldn't) enjoy video games from graphics. 6. Just thought I'd point it out - The points earned from collecting coins was a change. However, once you look up my said one or two YouTube videos, you could see there's been quite a lot more included in the game/engine. For example, the engine lacked any enemies, let alone bosses. I've implemented those. 7. There are no tiles. 8. You do NOT come play a tech demo and expect a storyline. Alright? Let's make that clear, at least. 9. The graphics are indeed not that great here, but as I'm developing the game, there are environments that just might be at least decent. |

Quote (LSF Games on Apr 3 2013, 11:34 AM) Oh man, the game is awesome! Truly one of the best minigames on mfgg! Would Mario Minigame Mahyem get a 10/10, this deserves a over 9000/10. I almost thaught this is a late april fools joke and some other game awaits me, but it turned out, it's the real one! Boy, was I glad! I'll write an review soon. Y'know - It's pretty outright a-hole-ish to poke fun at a poor fangame on another person's fangame which is totally irrelevant to that game. |
