This is a very creative, excellent review! I agree with VinnyVideo in that people shouldn't be so rude when reviewing other people's games. While fangames take a lot of time and thought to make, they're just a fun hobby. Most of them are made by a single person indeed, and such people don't get paid for it nor can they work on it full time. I think it's unfair to compare a made-for-fun fangame to a commercial game -- one that is made by an ever-growing number of professionals that get paid for their hard work. I wouldn't like it if I shared a game that I had fun making and then everybody labels it with naughty words, giving nothing helpful at all, as if they expected it to be the next Super Mario World.

To be honest, I feel like there are still some mean-spirited reviews today, especially for the games made by a certain person. (I'm not sure if it's safe to name that person, but you might know who I'm talking about. At least the hate seems to be cooling down, though.) Kind of like how some people just destroy this game just because of it's reputation, without acknowledging the effort Superadammario put into it, even if he may not be the world's most experienced game maker. However, at least there are some good people around here! Even the old days have some good fruits like Jeff Silvers and Parakarry (the latter of whom still hangs around today)!

I think some of my reviews in the past were too harsh and amateurish, not to mention some of them are stuffed with pointless fluff and plagiarization of other people's reviews. Nowadays I try to be unbiased, honest, and straightforward with my reviews while providing helpful, meaningful criticism. For a long time, I've actually thought of going back and revising some of my reviews.

Great review! Yeah, this game is very original and really fun to play! In retrospect, I might have actually been too harsh with my review. At first glance, these old fangames may seem very cheap. After playing so many of them, however, a lot of them are actually very creative, pretty fun, and funny! I've discovered gems like Yoshi vs. Windows, Mario's Mansion, Super Mario PC (the French one), Mario vs Luigi 2, and Toad Strikes Back (the prototype -- the full game is also really good and has a lot of the oldschool fangame charm, but I played that much earlier)! I'm sure there's still more I have yet to play (looking forward to Super Mario Epic 2)! Speaking of Super Mario Epic 2, I think Jeff Silvers described the classic fangame spirit very well in his review for Super Mario vs New Wario Order World Tour:

"This game comes from a time where much more focus was put into simple fun than having a beefy engine."

This is so cool! I'm glad you people made this! The geese in Satilla Composite make me laugh! The full version of The Elemental Orbs is a pleasant surprise! Does the online multiplayer still work? I logged in as a guest and I saw nobody. I remember Mario's Timeship Battle in the Minigame Competition this was made for; nice to see that here! Looks like it could've been a very cool game! Mario + Wario Complete is a very neat concept, although it's very hard. Is it possible to beat the second level? There's this wide gap with Koopa Paratroopas and Spinies and -- at the end -- a wall of red blocks. I tried it several times (thanks to the hidden 1-UP Mushroom) and I only got as far as inches away from the end. L IS REAL is a very cool concept that's pretty fun to play, even if it's a little awkward. The Midas Machine demo is SOOOOOO AWESOME!!! This is no SMB3 clone -- it feels like a totally new Mario game! It's even more creative than some of Nintendo's games! I love how it brings back some obscure concepts from past Mario games and also uses some of its own ideas! It's perhaps my favorite in this collection!

(Also, I can't seem to proceed beyond the factory level in Midas Machine. Is it seriously where the demo ends? There are more levels I can see in World 4 and even a World 5 in game's files. If there's anyone who managed to go beyond that factory level, please reply.)

The factory level is where the Midas Machine demo ends. It says so in the description in the time capsule menu.

Don't feel bad, Vitiman! I think your game is really neat! The graphics are very cool and the concept is very original and fun! Sure, it is very hard, but that doesn't make it a bad game! I'm also glad you shared Mario + Wario!

Wow! It's good to see you here, biebersoft! It's nice to see you upload your other fangames into this site!

In the second level, you're supposed to use a pipe in order to move on. It's the last one before that big pit you were talking about. You'll need to use the pipe once you get there, because if you jump onto the island after that, you're unfortunately unable to get back on the platform with the pipe. It is a rather poor design choice, however though.

I just beaten this and wow, what a fun game this is! There's a lot of variety to keep the game interesting and glitches are surprisingly minimal! There are some cute details like how the fish leave skeletons behind when killed and the silly transition screen with Mario leaving a trail of black behind him! I like how the game has a DOS feeling, with some similarities to the old Mario & Luigi DOS game. I wish the Bowser fight would've been more difficult and engaging, however. For a final challenge, it's very anticlimatic, especially when compared to the cool Lakitu and Boss Bass levels. I recommend giving this a game a shot, especially if you love the old Mario & Luigi classic!

Wow, this is amazing! The TSB prototype (which seems more like Toad Strikes Back 0) is perhaps one of the best early 2000s fangames I've ever played! I didn't expect it to be this good! Unfortunately, I hit a roadblock that's keeping me from beating the game: I can't hurt the weird Wario robot boss. No matter what I do, I always get blown up by the explosion. Does anyone know how I'm supposed to beat him?

Wow, that looks good! It sure looks more accurate to the Toad we all know than the official sprites!

Nice! I really like the cartoonish design!

Is there a reason why this is in the games section instead of the mods (AKA hacks) sections? I haven't downloaded it yet, but from the looks of it, it seems to be a patch for a game (in this case a PC port of SM64), just like everything in the mods section. Is there a difference here?

I know Mega Man Maker won some awards in MFGG Awards 2019. While it was released a few years before then, the game was uploaded to the main site on 2019. It probably helps that it got major updates, though. Beat: The Game originally came out in 2016, then got uploaded to the main site in 2019 without any updates, and it got a few nominations in MFGG Awards 2019. It seems that if a game was released on MFGG (main site, forums, etc.), no matter how old it is, then it's eligible for nominations. Because of that, I think we should be allowed to nominate Nintendo Nightmare in MFGG Awards 2021.

This is a fun little game! It reminds me of those old Flash games you would play online. The screen size is slightly too tall for my computer, so a little bit gets cut off, but it doesn't impair gameplay. If you ever plan on making another update, I suggest adding an option to change the screen resolution. Since it appears to be double-sized, a smaller size (1x) should be possible.

The idea of destroying everything in the level is fun and reminds me of the first two Duke Nukem games, but this game is way too hard! Each level has tons of enemies that shoot extremely fast projectiles that move towards you! The furthest I've gotten is Wart's Castle. I used a trick to get lots of lives; I use a password to play one of the bonus games over and over. I wonder if anyone (including TD) has actually beaten this game without using any passwords.

I played this in Halloween. The gameplay may be too simple -- the only interesting challenges are the boss fight and castle level -- but the cool ideas and funny humor made up for that! It was a lot of fun!

For those who think there is no way to get in the castle, there actually is! There's a hint in the game: To find it you have to enter a password (click on Secret in the menu by the window top to pull it up). Think of some Halloween words and you should get it down before you know it!

I played this demo just to see how different it is from the full game -- it's interesting. Most (if not all) of the other demos on this site are like the respective full games (whether expected or released) but you can't progress beyond a certain point. This one just gives you a level selection that's all out of order -- there's no story nor hubs. It's like Nintendo's demos.

All of the sprites uploaded to this site are meant to be used. Just don't claim any of these as your own. It's a good idea to give credit to the creator(s).

There's something weird with this game. Whenever I beat the Bowser's Castle level (after the giant fly boss), I get transported back to World 3. Is this a glitch or am I missing a hidden objective? I suspect that you might have to get a certain score -- I think I got above 1,500 at most.

This is a pleasant surprise! It's interesting that you're making a follow-up to a scrapped game. I haven't played the game yet though, so I don't know if this is stand-alone or it makes ties to the previous games story-wise, not that it really matters to me either way.
