OSMBEngine By: Gate [W]
A not-so complete Super Mario Bros engine that I didn't have time to complete.

This engine only works with GM 8 Pro.
Target Applications: GM8

The two only things missing are the castle mazes and the bowser battle but those can be easy to add if you have a lot of experience in GM.

Will you ever learn?

Anyways, nice engine. 10000000 times better than Hello's SMB1 engine.

You know, anyone can configure an engine to go from pro to lite.

I'm sure you possess the patience to do so, right?

I would have to agree with Luigifan. It is a great engine, and I do believe that it plays more like SMB then the Hello engine, but there are still a couple of things wrong with it, just nit-picky things. If I had to say, it's not nearly as momentum based as the original SMB, that is though if that is what you were aiming for. A lot of the movement variables are exaggerated, such as the time it takes Mario to reach his maximum horizontal speed, as well as his jumping. the initial vertical speed should be decreased, while the time that you can increase your jump height should be increased. Also, in the original SMB, you can't stop running while in the air, where as in this engine you can. I don't know, it's still a very nice engine as it exceeds my expectations. I even played them both back and forth to get the different feels between the two games. This is what I was using.

Wherever the running code is,
put:
if (the jumping varible in this case, vspeed) is greater than when you walk's speed, hspeed= the original speed whwen you walk.

I don't know game maker a lot, so don't be suprised if that does not work.

I have find a way to add bowser into the engine. just use the Hello Engine 6 Fan-Made engine and if you do please make that when you beat bowser it has it's own goal like the flagpole one, but only with a toad saying "thanks Mario but our princes is in another castle" and one for peach too buy saying "Oh thank you Mario" something like that not the Mario 3 way with the boss ball.
